CHAT-GPD IS BLESSING OR ONE CURSE?

Until some time ago, we talked about machines that would dominate the world, smart homes, robots doing tasks from the simplest to the most complex for us. Faced with the prospect of this distant future, we are torn between fear and excitement. But now that that future has arrived, we must choose whether to use it to our advantage or to our detriment. Whether we will benefit from technology or be enslaved by it until we become obsolete.

The best proof of this future that is now present is ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence capable of creating literature, advertisements and even programming code. Without a doubt, ChatGPT is spectacular and has great potential to change the way we conduct our tasks.

The tool reached a million users in a short time and has impressed, but now some fear that ChatGPT will threaten careers such as programming and copywriting, which were once seen as promising. Since this tool is so capable, it certainly can replace any of us, at any time, right?

I'm convinced this is pretty unlikely, at least for now because for a few days I've asked ChatGPT to do a few tasks for me, like writing a fifty thousand-word book, writing headphone copy, and researching certain topics. I noticed that other people have also experimented with ChatGPT's ability to create programming code.

To my surprise, I found that ChatGPT is far from replacing anyone who works in the creative aspects or writes code in the IT field, at least not those people who are really good and put effort into what they do. For those who aren't so good, ChatGPT can only superficially help them for now. These people have to understand that this is what they are going to gain from the program because if they don't pay attention and take everything that the program offers for granted, without even checking it, they will surely make many mistakes, maybe even serious ones, that can really hurt them, until cost them job.

I say this because on the task of writing a fifty thousand word novel set in France during World War II, ChatGPT's response to me basically said it was too complex for him and what he could do for me was give me some tips ; in the case of the copy, all that ChatGPT did was describe to me the qualities of the product, nothing creative or instigating as a good copy has to be, and in the case of the programming codes, according to the specialists who tested it, the codes created by ChatGPT contains bugs, vulnerabilities and many security flaws, the only task where, at least for me, it was satisfactory, was researching and reporting on various subjects

In short, for now, the only thing ChatGPT does reasonably well is search, which makes me sincerely happy but wary because I know it's only a matter of time and that at some point ChatGPT could write a fifty thousand-page book or more, it will make better copies and maybe even write programs perfectly, as it is constantly being fed by us with new information and suggestions for improvements.

But I am convinced that however good this technology may become, it will never be a match for human creativity and genius because if it is us and the thousands of data already available on the Internet that feed its brain, even if one day it may think by itself, its thoughts will be based on the information we pass to it, and a mind that cannot create ways of thinking for itself, is incapable of thriving in creating something truly new, much less being better than a critical mind, alive and creative.

The only way ChatGPT can outrun us is if we give in to the temptation to let it think, write, and create for us. If we let this artificial intelligence do our schoolwork and academics, it will program us, so we don't have to think.

If that happens, we will be doomed to alienation. In the near future we will have people who don't think individually and critically, who can't do creative things, simply because their brains are used to and totally dependent on a machine that thinks for them.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the ChatGPT and all the innovation it brought, but I think we should be cautious and use this tool for us and not against us. If we use the tool to help us in research, or a story outline, or a basis for a copy for sure it will be in our favor, now if we throw all the workaway, of thinking, writing books, entire academic papers and even computer code, then I am sorry to inform you that the day will really come when the ChatGPT, will think for us, work for us and finally maybe we will become so obsolete that we will cease to exist, hello, Sky-Net!

Well, jokes aside, this is my opinion, the ChatGPT may even be good, but it is very far from being able to take someone's job, especially of those who are really good at what they do, but if we get carried away by its ease and delegate to it the task of thinking, and creating for us, we will soon become alienated and empty, A future in an alienated world, scares me because when we are alienated, we are incapable of fighting, of criticizing, of reacting, and in this way we become no longer agents, but receivers and slaves of all and any form of manipulation, and with this easy prey, for any project of control, be it of men or machines.
